The goal of an Integrated Pest Management Program is to manage pests and their environments to balance benefits of control, costs and public health & environmental quality. IPM takes advantage of all appropriate pest management options. 1) Identified 2) Action thresholds are considered 3) Options are evaluated 4) Selected controls are implemented. The control options, which include biological, chemical, cultural, manual and mechanical methods, are used to prevent or remedy unacceptable pest activity or damage.
