Toledo Termite Control
We’ll Put Up a Fight Against the Termite
There are many natural disasters that can contribute to property damage: floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, and earthquakes. However, one cause of serious property damage--$5 billion dollars of it in the U.S. each year—is a termite infestation. These insects often go undetected until the damage has been done which is why they’re such a nuisance. Fortunately, our Toledo termite control specialists at Frame’s Pest Control have over 125 years of combined experience. Additionally, we are Associate Certified Entomologists, which means we can expertly identify the type of termite invading and damaging your home and come up with a customized treatment plan to effectively remove them and prevent them from returning.

Ways to Tell You Have a Termite Infestation
Termites are very similar to ants in that they live in colonies and have different roles. The majority of termites remain hidden in the colonies. For example, the queen’s purpose is to mate and lay millions of eggs. The king’s only role is to mate with the queen and produce more termites for the colony. Soldier termites are responsible for protecting the colony from any possible threats or invasion. Swarmer termites are responsible for traveling from the colony to make new colonies; these termites are the ones with wings. Lastly, workers feed the colony by foraging for food 24/7 and then regurgitating it. Because termites are detritus feeders, this means that workers are the primary cause of your property damage; they feed on the wood and drywall.
Although there are four different types of termites, each with distinct patterns and habitats, there are seven things to look for that indicate you have a termite infestation.
These include:
- Piles of shed wings on windowsills or glass doors
- Hollow sounding timber
- Broken skirtings and windowsills
- Swollen or puffy wood in your house making doors and windows difficult to open
- Sand or dust-like pellets throughout your home
- Cracks in door jams and cornices
Our Termite Treatment Methods
The type of termite you have—drywood, subterranean, or other—will determine how our Toledo termite control experts approach treatment.
Fumigation
If you have drywood termites, this is one of the most effective treatment methods. However, because of the chemicals used, you, your family, your pets, your employees, and/or your guests must remain out of and away from your property for 72 hours.
During this treatment method, we release toxic gas throughout your property that can penetrate wood and kill termites at any stage of their life cycle.
Soil Treatment
An inexpensive and easy way to rid your property of termites and prevent their return is soil treatment. Because termites build their colonies underground, it kills existing termites and prohibits them from building new colonies.
Chemical Foundation Barrier Treatment
A one-time solution that works as a lengthy protection and prevention option, chemical foundation barrier treatment is applied on the interior and exterior of your home. During this method, we drill holes four inches apart throughout your property’s interior and fill the holes with chemicals that are toxic for termites. The same process is done on your property’s exterior, except the holes are six inches apart.
Sentricon® Termite Baiting System
At Frame’s Pest Control, we are one of the only companies in the area that uses Sentricon® to eliminate termite colonies. These baiting stations are set up throughout your property and contain bait that termites prefer 10 times more than wood. As workers share the location of this bait station, more and more termites become covered in a toxin called noviflumoron which prevents them from molting and eventually kills them. Soon, the entire colony is killed, and your property will be rid of its infestation.
We Provide Thorough Inspections
Before we begin to apply any treatment method, our Toledo termite control specialists will begin with a thorough inspection of your property. This will enable us to determine the location of the infestation as well as the type of termite. Our inspections are consistent with form NPMA-33 and meet all FHA and BA requirements for real estate transactions.
